Corpus Christi Mini Vacation

Yesterday, I worked to Corpus Christi and took my family with me. Besides the hotel, the highlight was definitely the Texas Aquarium. Even the entrance was cool. Water rained down on the arches and you could look up and see it hitting top while walking in. Kind-of loud, though.
At the dolphin tank, we went below to have a totally different view. The dolphins played with balls and other toys while we looked on.

Corpus Christi Mini Vacation Continued

The Texas Aquarium has a nice playground geared for ages up to 12.
There were many places to climb and be silly.
Joel found a nice place to rest in the shade of a palm tree while the kids played.
Jacob found a beloved piece of bark. This photo makes me laugh out loud because it reminds me of American Gothic.
The Omni Hotel treated my children like VIPs. When we checked in, the hotel staff gave them a little backpack filled with great toys. Milk and cookies were sent up that night, too.

Handsome

Jacob sang in church last Sunday and looked so handsome doing it. He doesn't dress up much. Seeing him look so nice reminds me that I need to buy him dressier "church" clothes.

Outside Movie Night

My creative husband came up with a movie night for the neighborhood in our cul de sac. It was so fun.
He handed out flyers earlier in the week inviting all our neighbors to see "Monsters Vs. Aliens". That day, it took just a little while to set it all up.
We estimate about 60 people showed up.Sara sat through most of the movie with her popcorn and juice.

Jacab and his friend Elliott thought it was really cool to sit outside and watch a movie.

Little Visitor

A couple of weeks ago, we had this little visitor on our front porch.
When I tried to shoo it away with a mop handle, it curled up and struck at it. Even though it was small, it seemed aggressive and I didn't feel comfortable having it close to the house. My neighbor confirmed what I thought. It was a baby copperhead. Ugh.
